Keresley library is a community library and has no direct funding from local government. We need to raise funds through events, day to day operations, and other fundraising schemes to finance our ongoing costs. For special projects we are able to apply for grant funding.
If you would like to support the library by a direct gift, scan the QR code to make a donation to our funds. You will be directed to a SumUp payment page. Enter how much you would like to give and proceed to Checkout as Guest. Thank you for your generosity.
One way you can support us, if you feel able, is to sign up for the Borough Lottery. Follow the link, Borough Lottery, or scan the QR code to go to our page.
Tickets are £1 per week (bought as a minimum of 1-a-week for 5 weeks). You can pay by direct debit or one-off by debit card. 50% of your ticket price comes directly to support us.
Each month there is a Superdraw with additional prizes.
We welcome donations of second hand books in good condition and unmarked to sell. Fiction, children's fiction, popular non-fiction titles are welcomed. Please contact us to check we have capacity to receive them if there are a larger quantity of books.
We sell in the library or on webuybooks.com or worldofbooks.com.
We no longer accept DVDs to sell.
Recycle4Charity. Ink cartridges can be left in our collection box at the library. When the box is full we send it in and receive a donation based on the type of cartridge sent. HP or Canon cartridges generate cash for us and some Epson, but although not every cartridge generates a donation, using this scheme does prevent them going into landfill.
We are not able to accept laser or toner cartridges for this scheme.
Recycling for Good Causes: You can donate all your broken and unwanted jewellery to raise money for Keresley Library. If you have any gold, silver, odd earrings, broken chains, costume jewellery and watches, you can recycle them at no cost to you whilst making money for us.
Recycling for Good Causes can recycle:
any jewellery – gold, silver, costume jewellery, watches, broken and damaged items (such as odd earrings, snapped chains or items with missing stones).
any unwanted banknotes from ANY country of any age
Our partners at Recycling for Good Causes will reuse and recycle the jewellery and banknotes, giving the proceeds to Keresley Library, saving precious raw materials at the same time.
Simply use your own envelope or jiffy bag (No bigger than A5 in size) and post free of charge by printing out the freepost label below and attaching to your envelope.
*Please do not send coins or stamps to the freepost address as the postage costs will far outweigh your donation. *
You can now donate your used stamps to raise much needed funds for us. All kinds of stamps are welcome, on or off paper.
Simply cut or carefully rip the postage stamp from the used envelope, being careful that you don’t damage the stamp, and once you have a collection pop them in an envelope to:
Keresley Community Library
PO Box 16992
Sutton Coldfield
B73 9YA
Please use a plain or padded envelope, no larger than A4 in size, and add the correct postage before sending.
If you have a larger quantity of stamps, or items such as coins, old mobile phones or cameras, weighing 10kg or more, please contact the library and we will arrange to send using the recycling sack collection.
Collection4clothes+ Later in March we hope to be adding a donation station in the library for clothes and bric-a-brac which raises funds for a charity and also brings some income to us. Clean bagged items can be placed in the box.
